The Lir Academy Accessibility Statement

The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin is committed to providing web pages that are universally accessible to all users.

When websites are correctly designed, developed and edited, all users can have equal access to the sites’ information, functionality and benefits. We aim to make our website accessible and usable for people of all abilities and disabilities. Many people use assistive technologies to allow them, for example, to view websites in easier-to-read colours, with larger fonts or as spoken text, or to navigate around a site using the keyboard only. The following items have been prioritised to assist with consistency and accessibility:

  • Minimum of W3C Level 2 compliance in line with Web Accessibility Guidelines
  • Consistent header and footer navigation
  • Heading elements with skip and back to top links
  • Images coded to use an ALT attributes
  • Font size and colour contrast accessibility toolbar available throughout using: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-accessibility/
  • Forms coded for accessible use via TAB Order
  • Html5 semantic elements
  • Zero auto -laying of visual or audio media
  • Aria labels added to relevant read more buttons
